Simmers rejoice! The Sims 4 premiered the trailer for the next expansion Business & Hobbies on Feb 6. The almost 3-minute trailer showcased a lot of new features coming to the game. I’ve listed 10 below. Check it out!

New World

Like any new expansion, The Sims is bringing a new world to the game. The new world is called “Nordhaven” and comes with two neighborhoods: Gammelvik and Iverstad, according to the press release on EA.com.

Multi-Purpose Lots

A feature that’s been asked in The Sims 4 is finally coming. Multi-purpose lots appear to be the new lot top. Players will be able to have a business and home space all on one lot. 

Tattoo Shop

The Tattoo shop is back! A blast from The Sims 3: Ambitions, Players can visit and run their tattoo shop in the game. 

Updated Tattoo System

Tattoos have been in the game since the beginning. They were a tiny detail in create-a-sim. Now, players will be able to enjoy the same system introduced with the Cats & Dogs expansion with a color wheel, layering system, and new areas to place tattoos. 

Pottery

Ceramics makes its way to the sims. A new pottery wheel with options like “vases, pots, lanterns, stands, burners…etc. A “glaze gun” allows sims to apply glaze, and of course a Killin. Players also get a new skill. 

Apprentices

With new hobbies, comes the ability to teach others. From the trailer, we saw one of the main sims doing a class on pottery with students. We also saw someone overseeing a tattoo client and giving some feedback. There’s confirmation that Simmers will be able to host their acting class with the Get Famous expansion. 

Small Business Menu

It appears that just creating a business like in the Get to Work expansion is a thing of the past. There is a new “Edit Small Business” and believe a “Create Small Business” menu. That menu shows you can change your store logo, charge entrance fees, and modify the price You can also choose your target customers. 

Cross-pack compatibility will allow players to run multiple different types of businesses. With the Cats and Dog expansion, you can run pet cafes. Get Together allows for open arcades and arcades. City Living lets sims create their Karaoke bar. Simmers can finally run their spa with Spa Day and open a laundromat with the Laundry Day Stuff Pack, according to the news post. 

Designate Areas

The trailer went into detail and showed how different rooms can be categorized between “Residential, Public, and Employees Only.” If you’ve played with the For Rent expansion, this labeling system is not new. 

Kiosk

The beginning of the video showcased many storefronts. One is “Art’s Art” which shows the owner trying to make a sale. But in the back, you could see a sim using a Kiosk to pay. This feature is going to be a game-changer. Especially for those who own Get to Work. In GTW, players needed to assign an employee or themselves to check out customers. Like it was mentioned earlier, players can charge for memberships. We saw this at “Bjorn’s Bulk & Squat. A sim in the paid 37 simolens an hour and continued into the gym. 

Candy Making

Another store and hopefully skill coming with the expansion is candy making. We can see “Candy Kidz” at the beginning of the trailer.
