After 11 years, are burglars making their way to The Sims 4 in the next update?
Sims players received another clue about what "👀" meant when The Sims included it in their Q1 roadmap for The Sims 4. In a video posted to their social media accounts today, a notable theme featuring burglars and their silhouettes appeared, leading us to assume that burglars will be part of the next update.
For those unfamiliar, burglars were non-playable characters (NPCs) that visited Sims’ homes and robbed them. They appeared in previous Sims games.
Burglars worked in the game where they visited at night to steal valuables. Players could wake up and fight off the burglars to stop the theft or they could place an alarm to call the police.
This news comes just hours before the expected major base game update for The Sims 4, which typically occurs before the release of an expansion pack. The next update is rumored to drop on Feb. 25, according to popular mod creator TurboDriver, the creator of Wicked Whims.
The update will introduce new free features and code to prepare for the upcoming expansion. However, it will also break many mods, so players should be ready.
Burglars are a feature that many in the Sims community have requested—along with cars. If this sneak peek is any indication, it’s confirmation that burglars are on their way.
