Happy 25th Birthday to The Sims!

The Sims turned 25! On this day back in 2000, The Sims launched and who knew 25 years later it would still be going strong. I'm going to show you how to mod the game for the Legacy edition that dropped on Jan 30. Read more here about the rerelease.

The video tutorial is below but I've included a step-by-step below.  I've included some tips and know-how too!

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

CC/Hacked Objects

Step 1: Have the Sims 1 Legacy Installed via EA app, Steam, or Epic Game Store

Step 2: Locate the directory files. For me, it was C:Drive > Program Files > EA Games > The Sims Legacy

Depending on where you download the game, the initial drive may be different. You can just right-click the Sims icon or in the game client and locate the files that way.

Step 3: Locate the "Downloads" Folder. This is where CC and Hacked Mods* will go.

Step 4: Download your CC/Mods and unzip the folders.**

Step 5: Make folders to hold your CC. Don't delete any files in this folder that already exist. They are in-game files.

You can name the folders whatever you want. Just make sure you can easily locate them if you need to delete anything.

I labled mine "_CCHackedObjects" or "_CCLongIslandLiving"

Step 6: Transfer the cc/mod files to the folders you created.

You're done. Boot the game up

*: Hacked mods can cause game issues. Please be careful when downloading

**: Since the mods are old. Be careful with certain sites and files when downloading. Use a virus protector and scan the folders.

For Walls

Step 1: Download your walls and unzip the folders to access the files.

Step 2: Locate the walls folders in the directory files. Program Files > EA Games > The Sims Legacy > GameData > Walls

Step 3: Transfer .wll file to the folder.

That's it

For Sim Heads

Step 1: Download your sim heads and unzip the folder.

Step 2: Locate the Skins folder in the directory files. Program Files > EA Games > The Sims Legacy > GameData > Skins

Step 3: Move the "BMP, CMX & SKN" files to the folder.

Close the folder. That's it.
