The distortions affect teens, children, and toddlers
The Sims 4 is looking at another weird bug after the Feb. 25 base game update. Players reported that the faces and bodies of their children, toddlers, and infants in the game appeared distorted.
Several comments on The Sims reddit, EA Forums, and X reported the issue with screenshots from their games.
“BRO WHY ARE EMY TODDLERS BIG ASF?!,” slvt4svga posted on X.
When the reports first appeared, many thought the sims were pregnant. However, their in-game settings have not changed and only their body proportions are affected.
“I have noticed the appearance of my toddlers looking stretched, like they are the same size as a child, and face features have changed slightly, also tested without mods,” one user posted on the EA Forum.
EA_Cade, a community manager on the EA Forums, posted in the thread that they have identified the cause and are working to release an update for existing save files.
“We have identified the cause of an issue with Child Sims experiencing body distortion, and we are working to release an update which will resolve this issue in existing saves. Child Sims in brand new saves will not be affected by this bug. In the meantime, you can manually restore your Sims by using the following workaround,” stated Cade
Cade posted a workaround that players can do in the meantime.
Open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C. Console folks, you can plug in a USB keyboard to do so.
Type in “testingcheats true” and hit enter.
Type in “CAS.fulleditmode” and hit enter.
Shift click on your Child Sim and select “Modify in CAS” from the pie menu.
In the top left of the screen, change the gender of your Child Sim, and then change it back.
The Sim should be back to normal, click the tick button in the bottom right of the screen to return to Live mode.
To remove cheats, open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C.
Type in “CAS.fulleditmode false” and hit enter.
Type in “testingcheats false” and hit enter.
Players can try the workaround and wait for the next update that brings additional fixes.
