Reports of game crashes fill the EA Forum same day as the release
Users reported issues with The Sims and The Sims 2 rereleases.
Both games returned to PC with updated specs to run on modern machines on Jan 30 and sims players (simmers) reported that the games crashed at launch or failed to continue running.
Simmers quickly took to X, formally Twitter, with screenshots of crashes and notifications from the game stating, “The application has crashed. The application will now terminate.”
Popular Sims 4 Mod Creator, Zerbu, posted their experience with The Sims 2 which included an issue with DirectX.
The new EA Forum, where players can report bugs or issues, filled with posts related to the crashes. The main Sims post has over 110 replies and over 2000 views with users confirming that they had the same issue.
